The voice of refugees and asylum seekers in the Wakefield District

Welcome to the Rasa Advocacy Project Website.

Rasa online is designed and created to bring greater awareness of refugee and asylum seeker issues in Wakefield.

RASA is looking for a new Development Worker. Click here for more details.

Rasa is a Wakefield based advocacy project specifically aimed at refugees and asylum seekers. We can help you to understand the legal implications, settle into a community, and appreciate the social benefits of resettlement in the Wakefield District. Please view some of our case histories of people we have helped.

The principal vision of Rasa is to look forward to a time when people forget the labels “refugee” or “immigrant” and see each other as friends and neighbours.

It is hoped that by providing this Website we will increase awareness of our work and help those who could use our help to find us and know they are not alone.

Rasa advocacy works in partnership with many other local and national agencies to ensure your needs are met. You can find a list of Rasa advocacy partners by clicking on the Partners link.

International MusicWe regularly hold a variety of events and meetings which are open to anyone to attend. We like to share and enjoy the experience of different cultures. Some events we have had in the past have included;

International Food

If you have come to this Website but are not in the Wakefield District, West Yorkshire please contact us and we will try to provide details of a local Advocacy group that can help.
