Committee Vacancies
We need experienced people who not only can complement our existing Committee, but who can help us to continue to improve the work we do. As a member of our Committee you will take a strategic overview of our activity and ensure our work is developing in line with our annual plan.
Ideally you will have skills in at least one of these areas:
The asylum process
Finance
Human resources
Housing benefits
Marketing and fundraising
Trustees meet every month, but may also be required to join sub-committees to work on specific areas.
We are seeking applications from all kinds of people, but refugees themselves are currently under-represented and are particularly invited to apply.
RASA is a multi-cultural organisation offering an advocacy service for refugees in a range of specialist topics including: NASS support, welfare benefits, employment, health and housing.
RASA's aims are fourfold:
- To provide a focus for support to enable refugees and asylum seekers to access basic services to ensure their health, well-being and safety.
- To provide advocacy which will build people's confidence to support themselves and promote their quality of life.
- To promote refugees' integration into mainstream society.
- To provide a community focus where refugees from different cultures can meet to find friendship and share experiences.
How to apply:
If you are interested in applying, please write to Peter Loosemore, Chair, at the above address, or email peter@rasa-advocacy.org.uk.
You may also call the Secretary, Henry Fisher, on 07939 811077 or the Project Manager, Masoud Maddah, on 01924 368855 for an initial discussion.
Closing date: 24 April 2009
