Volunteers
We at RASA rely on the help that volunteers provide us. We welcome volunteers from within and outside the refugee and asylum seeker community.
RASA needs volunteers to assist with a wide range of jobs:
- Help manage our resource centre
- Becoming an advocate – full training provided
- Managing our resource centre
- Producing a newsletter
- Meeting visitors, answering telephones, and taking messages
- Joining the Management Committee
- Helping with decorating and odd jobs
We will try to provide work that fits your skills and interests. There is something for everyone and you do not have to speak English to volunteer—all you need is enthusiasm.
Volunteer’s benefits
Our volunteers gain work experience that may help them in their search for future employment. They are also able to learn about the lives and the cultures of refugees and asylum seekers in the local district. Through sharing experiences and providing support, volunteers gain skills and knowledge that may help in the future in their own life.
